Grey day

Its a cosy day today, grey and rainy outside, I'm stuck indoors anyway waiting for the gas man so why not make the most of it?!

I love autumn, it is my favourite season even on a day like this, still warm enough to be comfortable during the day, chilly at night, great things astronomically and the prospect of winter creeping in where everything shuts down for a rest in the natural world. Time to stock up on tea and enjoy it.
Have a good day folks.

Cold but pretty.

Tonight that is, the moon looks great shining through the clouds and the cold just makes it feel more wintry which I actually like! We did break out the cosy blanket last night and have dusted off the oil radiator, tomorrow I will hoover the gas fires so they don't smell too much of dust when we turn them on! Anyway, I have to be up in the morning so shall fight my night time wakefulness and try to get some sleep, hope you are well dear reader and I'll update again soon.

Industrious.

So far today I have done a load of washing, made flapjacks AND two fruit cakes...just had to document it as it doesn't happen often! Blogs are brill.

Anyway, hope you are all well, on to proper work now - see my other blog www.rehome-a-book.blogspot.com for details!

Home.

Well, I'm back, had a smashing week as always in Scotland, saw dolphins! We had a couple of stormy days but generally walked lots and saw many types of bird and wildlife, going in spring next time as it's been a while since we went then.
Anyway, back to work-mode with a vengeance, my washing machine is working very hard, I need more coffee.
Catch you later!

It had better be worth it..

The holiday I mean, it had better be worth the STRESS before going away...food for the boyf, food for the pets, have I packed what I need, will he remember to do the bins next week? Sod it, I'm gone!

Anyway, I shall write on my return with news of the wonder that is the Isle of Mull, I go every year for walking, birds and quiet, no computer, no mobile signal, there is a phone box...if it's working...
Take care. X

Beautiful day

It is stunning outside now that the sun has burned the fog away, I love waking up on a misty morning but the freshness that follows is brilliant. Must go out and enjoy it later!

It is International Literacy Day today, I have written about it on my business blog which you can find HERE.

Right, more tea then onwards to productivity!

Saturday 4 September 2010

Lazy day.

Although I got out of bed at a decent time for a Saturday, I haven't done a lot! I've spent the whole day with the laptop Twittering and checking Facebook - very social of me, also I have watched nothing but cooking shows on Good Food and Food Network, having been inspired I will pop into Tesco on my way to my friend's house later to buy things for lunch tomorrow.

We had a great-yet-normal night out last night in our local beer garden, it is a mission of ours to use it until the weather makes us sit inside! I informed the chaps that the ISS was passing over and we watched it go by with beer-in-hand, they were really chuffed to have seen it, I felt like I had provided a good service, isn't science wonderful.

Anyway folks, Barefoot Contessa is on now so I am going to continue my culinary adventure. Have a good rest of the day.

Sun.

We have had such a beautiful couple of days here, I've been lucky enough to be able to spend yesterday and today in my folk's garden picking things and generally getting ready for Autumn, saw a flock of geese fly over last night which always tells me Autumn is on the way - love it! I just hope this lovely weather lasts a while longer, we are off to Scotland for a week on the 11th so just a few days without storms would be great!

What a weekend.

Hi all, as you know it was my birthday last Friday, it always falls around the bank holiday but this year it was great as some of my friends were actually about rather than on holiday as is usually the case. We had a good night out...shame about the hangover! Anyway, a year older and no wiser.

Saw the ISS go over again tonight, I let my Facebook friends know about it and several of them enjoyed seeing it with their kids which was great! I always get a buzz from seeing it go by, it passes tomorrow at 8.23pm btw if you are in the UK.

Anyway, it is gone 1.30am which is not late for me, I have just done some of my banking online but I am actually a little sleepy tonight, probably due to the weekend upsetting my rhythms! I shall dose for a bit then do something constructive...probably.
